Bio

Strategy Risk Management Leadership

Prof. Abraham Althonayan is an Executive Consultant, Trainer, and Academic specialising in strategic management, enterprise risk management, organisational resilience, and leadership development. He holds a PhD in Strategic Management from Brunel University and brings over 30 years of senior international experience across aviation safety, operations, logistics, and global supply chain management.

Abraham has designed and delivered executive training and consultancy programmes in strategic leadership, competitiveness, risk-aware decision-making, change management, and organisational resilience for ministries, universities, and corporations across the UK, Saudi Arabia, and Kazakhstan. His work focuses on translating strategy, risk, and leadership theory into practical frameworks that support sustainable performance and organisational accountability.

Previously, he served as Senior Consultant at Saudi Arabian Airlines, where he led strategy, safety, risk assessment, and operational audits across more than 120 international airports, contributing to a 36% reduction in accidents and generating savings exceeding USD 70 million. He has also worked on consulting projects with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and partnered with the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Alongside his consulting work, Prof. Althonayan is an ICF Certified Executive Coach with over 3,500 hours of coaching experience. He is the author of more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and has secured over USD 4 million in international research funding. He serves on advisory boards for leading academic and corporate institutions and maintains an active professional presence across Europe, the Gulf region, Central Asia, and North America.
